We are now looking for Legal Counsel to co-create the future with us!

As Legal Counsel at Futurice, you will have the exciting opportunity to provide expert legal advice and support to ensure the company's compliance, risk management, and complex contract negotiations are handled effectively within our innovative and collaborative culture.

We are pleased to accept applications from candidates located in both Helsinki and Tampere. However, it is important to note that our current legal team is based in Helsinki. If the candidate is from Tampere, they should be prepared to work flexibly in our hybrid work setup, which may include regular travel to Helsinki for seamless collaboration with the existing team. Our Helsinki and Tampere offices have everything from world-class coders to perceptive service designers and fearless business consultants – all mixed together in a petri dish of innovation, where silos are avoided. You will work together with our Legal team and other professionals, who come from 50 different nationalities. The position is full-time. The desired starting date would be as soon as possible.

Your daily tasks will consist mostly of

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in contract and general law engaging in projects with international top tier companies such as BMW, Supercell, Fortum, Kesko, Volkswagen and others
  • Reviewing, commenting on and negotiating client and supplier agreements and other documents, which might be complex while facing tough negotiations with seasoned procurement teams
  • Helping our teams to provide top-notch services by giving your insight and providing pragmatic, solution-driven and commercially relevant legal support in ad hoc legal issues, especially related to data privacy, technology and employment
  • Ensuring the company is managed in accordance with corporate laws, our shareholders’ agreements and good corporate governance, and participating in various aspects of Board work in our subsidiaries

The recipe for success

Here's a little checklist to help you figure out if you are a match for us:

  • Have a Master’s degree in law
  • Fluency (written and oral) in English and Finnish. Swedish and German are considered an asset.
  • Have at least a few years (+3) of experience as an in-house counsel and/or from a law firm, preferably with an international aspect. In-house experience is considered a major benefit.
  • Showcase a strong track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating long-term commercial agreements, both national and international
  • You have an understanding of company legal matters and a proven ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
  • Experience in corporate governance, M&A, data protection, and commercial agreements is highly valued
  • Proactive and business-oriented approach to legal issues
  • Strong interpersonal and social skills
