To strengthen Swappie's finance team on our path to profitability we are now looking for a new tax-savvy team member, who wants to make a difference for the environment and make refurbished electronics mainstream! Would you like to jump onboard as a
TAX MANAGER
and take ownership of Swappie's international tax matters as a whole?
You will own and develop our tax knowhow and practices to support our ambitious profitability and growth targets, while ensuring we meet all official tax obligations in each country we operate in. And no worries - you don't need to know all international tax laws by heart, but you should be an expert regarding a couple of countries and for the rest be eager to partner with local consultants and tax officials to find answers to all tax related questions the Swappie team might have.
As Tax Manager you will be responsible for tax studies and related planning as we expand both our supplier and client base internationally - without forgetting Swappie's own employees across several countries and continents. You will work in a complex international environment from a taxation point of view, but in this role you are able to make a significant impact on the future success of Swappie as a company. In this role you will report to our Chief Financial Officer and work as a member of our international Finance and Legal team. The team is constantly looking for ways to improve our finance and legal related procedures and processes, and as our business is dynamic, exciting, and constantly developing, daily growth and learning opportunities are ensured!
- All tax related matters, planning and risk management across Swappie's operating countries, Finland, Estonia, and Germany being the most important ones
- Tax reporting, statements, and compliance with tax laws internationally (e.g. VAT, VAT margin scheme, permanent establishments, employer tax obligations, tax audits)
- Owning and developing our tax knowhow and practices, following the development of tax regulations and initiating any required change actions
- Tax studies and related planning as we expand internationally
- Owning the transfer pricing policies and practical implementation together with Group Financial Controller
- Collaboration and communication with both internal and external stakeholders in tax related matters, e.g with tax authorities in various countries and People team in personnel and options related tax questions
- Participating in and leading various development projects within the Finance team
- Global insurance management supported by related teams (e.g. HR, Legal, Logistics and Warehousing operations, and Expansion teams)
- International customs related matters and working together with our Supply and Purchasing teams
- At least a few years of international tax experience in either consulting industry or working in a multinational corporation
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of VAT on EU level and locally (Finnish, German and/or Estonian VAT legislation knowledge is considered a plus). Experience in VAT margin tax scheme is considered a plus
- Relevant experience in transfer pricing and related tax matters
- Ability to transform complex tax issues into clear guidelines and recommendations and communicate those to relevant stakeholders
- Fluency in English, Swappie's working language. Fluent written and spoken Finnish or Estonia language helps you to succeed in this position, German language skills are also considered as a plus
- Experience in working with global employee taxation is considered a plus
- Strong knowhow of financial accounting is considered a plus
